Like a Beginning not an End (Nami's Song)

"This... this is a song I wrote for Lady Nami, and it may be my finest piece I've ever written." Brooke said solemnly handing her the sheet music and waited in heavy anticipation with the bow of his violin at the ready for Taiwan to be ready. Brooke paused to consider it for a bit and then said smiling, "If you sing I shall play, and if you play I shall sing. And if you were to sing and play I shall follow suit." And with that Brooke gave a cheerful bow waiting for her to begin.

She didn't feel that comfortable singing this time, since she didn't know the song, but she looked over all the notes, tapping out the beat as she flipped through the pages, and then she started to play.

Brooke began to sing pouring his heart into the song so that you could hear his feelings in the song that expressed his love for all things. The song was the perfect in bittersweet to him and he knew that many people couldn't quite understand it and him for making it but he loved it like it was his child or something. He just for some reason was so proud of this piece that it almost made him want to cry for some reason. And so he also began to play it on his violin, smiling through the tears in his eyes.

She concentrated hard on playing the music, the erhu singing a little mournfully under her hands and bow. She is startled when Brooke suddenly started to play the violin and she looked to him in surprise... "Brooke...?" Why was he crying...?

As Brooke finished the final notes on his violin he just smiled wiping his eyes a little. "Yohohoho, it must be autumn allergies or something my Lady Taiwan. Nothing to worry about. Thank you for playing the piece with me, I think your erhu captures the melody maybe a bit too well. Yohohoho!"

"Ah...maybe," Taiwan agreed. "T-thank you for letting me play it with you."

Unicorns on Parade

"Yohoho, it's no trouble at all I asked you to after all didn't I?" Brooke said laughing a little nervously since he had just been crying on stage. "I know! Let's sing ourselves a bright and cheery song so we don't depress the audience? Yohohoho!" and this time is laugh was much more of it's usual chipper attitude as he instructed he turned a few of the pages on the sheet music he gave her.

She couldn't help laughing as she read the lyrics. "O-oh! I remember this." She adjusted the strings on her instrument. "Let's see..."

Brooke hopped over to the piano to play the song it before Taiwan could start without him and so he played in unison with her on the piano while he sang. The thing Brooke loved about this song was that it's beat was almost perfect for the trot of a unicorn and he almost felt like his fingers were trotting down the keys he was playing on the piano and he laughed when he remembered how silly they had all looked. "Yohohoho!"

The bow of the erhu fairly flew over the strings as Taiwan played this time, keeping the song as upbeat as she could to match the tone. She feels almost a little breathless as the song ends. "That was fun!"

"It was, wasn't it!" Brooke said with a twinkle in his eyes. "It's a little short but certainly gets the point across. Yohohoho!"

"I think it's good that it's short! Songs don't have to be long to be good..."
